Elementary Tech
Welcome to the Elementary Tech page. At Winside Elementary students begin Keyboarding at 4th grade. Each class, 4th, 5th, & 6th, comes to the computer lab twice a week for 20 minutes. The 4th grade uses the computer software "Type to Learn", the 5th grade uses "Type to Learn 3" and the 6th grade uses the new program "Type to Learn 4". Along with keyboarding lessons each class will learn other technologies such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Inspiration, and Photo Story 3.
One of the other ways that I would like to use this page is to share web sites that I think students and parents might find interesting and helpful. I will be adding more sites as the year goes by. Click here to find my list. Recommended Web Sites
For the new school year 2010-2011 I have started a blog. Didn't think I would ever be a "blogger", but several of our elementary staff are trying to utilize more technology this year. In order to be of assistance I figured I better know something about setting up a blog. Haven't really quite decided how I will use the blog, but for now I will be talking about things we're doing in technology - both in my classroom and in the elementary.
